Bio

Background

Alex Morales is a longtime baseball coach and scout based in Palm Beach County. He played locally at Belle Glade Christian High School before continuing at Palm Beach Community College (now Palm Beach State) and finishing his playing career at the University of South Florida. After college, he began coaching in Palm Beach County—serving as head coach at Belle Glade Christian, coaching at Forest Hill High School, and working as an assistant at Palm Beach CC.

In 1994, Alex began his professional career in affiliated baseball, including a stop as an assistant with the Stockton Ports in the California League and then as manager of the Helena Brewers in the Pioneer League, where his 1995 and 1996 clubs won league championships. He also scouted Central Florida during this period and worked with numerous future professional players.

Alex later spent 12 years as a full-time scout with the Milwaukee Brewers, the MLB Scouting Bureau, and the Atlanta Braves, with notable signings including Johnny Venters, Greg Mullins, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. From 2006–2010, he returned to the coaching ranks at Palm Beach CC/Palm Beach State, developing players who advanced to four-year college baseball and professional baseball, including MLB players Tony Cruz, Kevin Siegrist, and Brad Peacock. His teams included multiple All-Americans, Gold Glove winners, and regular postseason appearances.

Following his time at Palm Beach State, Alex joined the Washington Nationals organization for 15 years, eventually rising to Southeast Crosschecker, with notable signings including Brian Goodwin, Jesús Luzardo, Jake Knoll, Cody Wilson, Yohandy Morales, Orlando Ribalta, and Elijah Green.

We’re excited to have Alex on board as an FDRS Recruiting Advisor serving Palm Beach County families.
