Every athlete’s recruiting journey is different, but one thing remains the same. Without a clear plan, the process can quickly become confusing and stressful. There are so many moving parts, from communication with coaches to choosing the right events to attend, and many families are left trying to figure it out on their own.
As someone who played Division I softball and later worked closely within professional baseball, I have seen both sides of the process. I understand what coaches are looking for, but I also understand what athletes and families go through behind the scenes. That perspective is what drives everything I do when helping others navigate recruiting.
Too often, athletes focus only on the name of the school or the division level. While those things can matter, they are only a small part of the bigger picture. Finding the right fit means looking at academics, playing opportunities, financial factors, and even geographic location. When these pieces align, athletes are much more likely to succeed and enjoy their college experience.
